Palestinian culture cannot simply be printed onto a T-shirt.
It lives in stories, places, patterns, and craftsmanship.
Hurriya began with the Kufiya. With a garment that has been connected to Palestine for generations and means far more than just fabric.
With our new CITIES OF PALESTINE series, we are taking the next step.
We do not simply want to depict Palestinian heritage on clothing.
We want to integrate it into the clothing itself.
And we begin with Jerusalem.
01 · Jerusalem
The first T-shirt in our CITIES OF PALESTINE series is dedicated to Jerusalem.
On the chest is a red Tatreez motif: Sur Al Quds – the Walls of Jerusalem.
The motif is embroidered directly onto the T-shirt and combines modern, minimalist design with a centuries-old Palestinian embroidery tradition.
The result is neither a classic souvenir nor ordinary Palestine merchandise.
Instead, it is a garment that connects heritage with the present.
What is Tatreez?
Tatreez is the traditional Palestinian art of embroidery.
For generations, geometric patterns, plants, animals, places, and symbols have been embroidered onto clothing and textiles.
Depending on the region, colors, patterns, and motifs could vary. In this way, Tatreez became a visual language in which origin, everyday life, and identity were made visible.
To this day, embroidery remains an important part of Palestinian cultural heritage.
At Hurriya, you can already find Tatreez on Kufiyas, bags, cushions, and other handcrafted products from Palestine.
With CITIES OF PALESTINE, we are now bringing this tradition into a new form.
Why Jerusalem?
Jerusalem – Al Quds – holds special cultural and historical significance for Palestinians.
The motif on our first shirt is called Sur Al Quds, the Walls of Jerusalem.
Embroidered in red on black or white fabric, the traditional motif is intentionally understated.
No large graphic.
No bold statement.
Just the pattern and its story.
This restraint was especially important to us.
Because the idea behind Hurriya Fashion is not to put “Palestine” on clothing as loudly as possible.
We want to translate Palestinian design, craftsmanship, and history into modern clothing in a way that can stand on its own, even without a lengthy explanation.
Not simply printed – but embroidered
A defining part of the collection is the embroidery.
The Tatreez motif is not printed onto the T-shirt as a graphic.
It is incorporated into the garment as embroidery.
This makes the pattern part of the fabric itself.
The result is a simple T-shirt with a detail that reveals its full meaning only at second glance.
For us, this is exactly the difference between a printed statement shirt and a garment that tells a story of Palestinian craftsmanship.
From the Kufiya to Palestinian Fashion
Hurriya began with the Kufiya.
It remains one of the most recognizable symbols of Palestinian culture and one of the most important products in our shop.
But Palestinian design is about far more than that.
Tatreez, ceramics, olive wood, weaving, and other craft traditions tell stories of different regions, cities, and families.
With HURRIYA Fashion, we want to translate these stories into contemporary clothing.
Not as costume.
Not as merchandise.
But as fashion with heritage.
CITIES OF PALESTINE
Jerusalem is therefore not simply a single design.
It is the first chapter of a series.

More cities will follow.
City by city, we want to explore traditional motifs and continue telling their stories through clothing.
Each design will represent a different place.
A different motif.
A different story.
But always the same idea:
Palestinian cultural heritage should not only be preserved. It should be worn.
Made in Palestine
For Hurriya, origin is not a marketing term.
All of our products are made directly in Palestine and combine traditional techniques with contemporary design. Tatreez already plays a central role in several of our products.
The Jerusalem T-shirt builds on exactly that.
It combines a modern cotton T-shirt with traditional Palestinian embroidery and is therefore part of what Hurriya was meant to be from the very beginning:
a connection between Palestinian craftsmanship and modern everyday life.
Wear the Heritage
For us, WEAR THE HERITAGE therefore means more than just a slogan.
It describes the idea behind the entire collection.
Culture does not have to exist behind glass.
Tradition does not have to remain in the past.
It can evolve, be reinterpreted, and be worn.
With the Jerusalem Tatreez T-Shirt, our journey through the cities of Palestine begins.
