The first chapter of the HURRIYA series, “Cities of Palestine”, begins in Jerusalem.

At the heart of the design is Sur Al Quds (سور القدس) - a traditional Palestinian Tatreez cross-stitch motif from Jerusalem. Sur Al Quds means “Walls of Jerusalem” and refers to the historic walls of the city.

The motif is hand-embroidered in Palestine and adorns the left chest.

No large prints. No loud slogans. The Tatreez embroidery is the statement.
